Waiting on Wednesday: The Fault in Our Stars by John Green

"Waiting On" Wednesday is a weekly event hosted by Breaking the Spine to spotlight an upcoming release that we're excited about. This week I'm waiting on The Fault in Our Stars by John Green.

Diagnosed with Stage IV thyroid cancer at 12, Hazel was prepared to die until, at 14, a medical miracle shrunk the tumors in her lungs... for now.

Two years post-miracle, sixteen-year-old Hazel is post-everything else, too post-high school, post-friends and post-normalcy. And even though she could live for a long time (whatever that means), Hazel lives tethered to an oxygen tank, the tumors tenuously kept at bay with a constant chemical assault.

Enter Augustus Waters. A match made at cancer kid support group, Augustus is gorgeous, in remission, and shockingly to her, interested in Hazel. Being with Augustus is both an unexpected destination and a long-needed journey, pushing Hazel to re-examine how sickness and health, life and death, will define her and the legacy that everyone leaves behind

The Fault in Our Stars will be available January 10, 2012.

  8. At first i was a little hesitant to buy this book considering all of the mixed reviews, but trust me, this book was worth it. I agree with some of the reviews on the topic that you cant really feel the main characters love for the other, but when i started reading this book i couldnt put it down. I would recommend this book to anyone. Now if you still dont believe me; lets weigh out the pros and cons. Pros: great author, good plot, characters are well defined, overall a nice read.
